With
more than 20 years of experience, I
have written for a wide variety of audiences and objectives.
Before
launching Cvetan Communications in September 2000, I managed the marketing communications department and
served as media spokesperson for a
Pittsburgh-based health care system. Operating 10 diversified business
units, South Hills Health System served 40 communities and employed
nearly 3,000 people.
You name it; I have probably written it. Newsletters, brochures, websites, white papers, executive
memos and speeches, direct mail packages, sales letters, magazine
articles, training scripts, op-ed pieces, special event collaterals,
press releases (with media relations follow-up) and once (so far), a rap
song parody for a sales trainer.
I serve on
the board of the International
Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Pittsburgh chapter, planning programs as co-vp of professional development. In
past years I served as co-president, vp of membership and co-chair of
the Golden Triangle Awards Committee.
I graduated
summa cum laude from Carlow
University with a dual major in
English and writing. However, I received some of my best training in
persuasive communication as an eight-year volunteer and trainer for CONTACT Pittsburgh, a
crisis and suicide hotline.
In 2005, I co-founded an animal advocacy and
education group focused on domestic rabbits. The Pittsburgh House Rabbit Club,
which I continue to lead, has earned extensive broadcast and print
media coverage. The group has produced hundreds of programs designed to
help people more effectively care for—and communicate with—rabbits.
